Christmas is almost here, bringing with it all the little things we love about this holiday season like the crisp, chilly air, the streets aglow with twinkling lights, the comforting aroma of freshly baked treats and the joyful anticipation of gifts. For book lovers, it’s nothing short of paradise. This is the perfect time to curl up in a cozy corner with a favourite book and lose yourself in a world of fantasy.
But Christmas isn’t just about a single day of celebration. It’s about pausing to savour the small, magical moments along the way. From the glow of beautifully lit trees to the quiet comfort of a good story, these little joys are what truly make the season special.
So, why not add a touch of this holiday magic to your reading moments? A Christmas-themed bookmark can be that perfect slice of festive cheer, lifting your spirits and bringing a smile to your face every time you turn a page.
The Gouache paper from Menorah is perfect for making bookmarks of your choice. It is 240 GSM thick, durable and versatile. It has a toothy texture that holds vibrant colours and works well with various mediums like gouache, acrylics, water colours and markers. It is made of acid-free paper, ensuring it remains intact over time, making it a perfect choice for making keepsakes.
Here are the steps to recreate the Christmas tree bookmark by @neethupaintarts._
1.Draw the outline of a Christmas tree on a gouache paper using a pencil.
2. Paint the first layer of leaves with Girl Scout Green, followed by the next layer with Christmas Green for a vibrant, layered effect.
3.Add a golden star on top, and paint the trunk and flower on the Menorah gouache paper pad pot to complete the tree base.
4.Use black paint to draw a curvy line around the tree to represent the wire for the lights.
5. Decorate the tree with golden and red ornaments along the wire and add silver stars to the flower pot for an extra festive flair.
6. Carefully cut the Christmas tree design into two equal halves.
7. Cut a long strip of Menorah gouache paper and fold it in half. Then, fold each end in opposite directions, one to the right and the other to the left.
8. Apply glue to the folded edges and attach each to the back of the two Christmas tree halves.
9. Slip the bookmark into your favourite book and let it bring festive cheer to your reading time.
This bookmark painting idea is the perfect way to combine your creativity with the festive spirit. It’s fun, easy to make and is also a meaningful gift that you can make on your own for your loved one.
